AI Assistants
AI Assistants define how Bread Crumbs Bot generates responses for incoming messages.
Each assistant is created with an AI type and type-specific integration properties.

Create AI assistants
To create an AI assistant, go to the AI Assistants page (opens in a new tab) and click Create AI Assistant.
- You can create an AI assistant for each channel you have configured.
- Most of the time you will need to pick only the model and the API key as required properties.
Assign AI assistants to conversations
AI assistants can be assigned to conversations, similar to live agents.
To configure this, go to the Channels page (opens in a new tab) and edit a channel to set the assignment behavior.
For now, this assignment applies to new conversations only.
When an AI assistant is assigned to a conversation:
- The conversation is handled by that AI assistant instead of a human agent.
- Team members can still monitor the conversation from Inbox (opens in a new tab).
- You can reassign the conversation back to a live agent at any time.
- Assignment changes are visible in the conversation timeline/history.
Special keywords
In case the AI agent returns a response containing one of the following keywords, Bot will handle them specially:
#HANDOVER#: Handover the conversation to an agent.#END#: End the conversation.
